Task 1, 80-100 words. Comments and/or interpretation on 'Architecture as Experience' (pg. 4-7):
" 'It is not what a building looks on its opening day, but what it is like thirty years that matters.' - Finish Architect Alvar Aalto. This strong statement quoted from the text, in my opinion, sums up the four-page discussion on 'Architecture as Experience'. His statement not only questions the functionality of a building and its interpretation of the current society (which is discussed widely in the text) but also challenges its sustainability and adaptibility in the future. Architecture is a physical translation as well as a reflection of a society. With the rapidly developing social and living standard of a society, architecture faces many challenges in welcoming as well as adapting to the new wave. It serves as a bridge of time lapse. It is through architecture that we are able to experience a bit of the taste of the great past and the projection of the future of human existence."
That moment, after 6 years of german and you have to submit a 100-words essay in english. 100 ja pun, tapi tak ku sangka aku masih boleh menulis dalam bahasa inggeris. Rasa macam otak digerudi. Pehnaht.
